Tim and Lynley Hatcher have been serving with Wycliffe Bible Translators since 1999. Brianna completed college at SAGU in 2023 and is pursuing a career in digital marketing. Cameron loves making short films for his YouTube channel.

How did Tim get so lucky?

Tim and Lynley met at Oral Roberts University. Lynley has a masters degree in sociolinguistics with an emphasis in Scripture Engagement. Tim has his PhD in intercultural studies from Assemblies of God Theological Seminary.

 

In 1997, we saw a map that showed all of the languages in the world. Each language that had the Bible had a green light. The languages that did not, had a red light. When we saw the overwhelming need for Bible translation, we wondered why we had never considered this ministry before. After three weeks of prayer, God made it clear that He was calling us into the Bible translation ministry.

We are binging the understandable Word of God to the Bibleless peoples of the world.

There are 1,216 language that still do not have one Word of the Bible in their language. The only way we are going to reach these remaining languages groups is if we have many, many more Bible translators.

 

We train new and experienced Bible translators. We conduct acceptability checks on current Bible translations to ensure maximum spiritual impact. Our goal is to see people set free by the Word of God and to have a life-changing relationship with Jesus Christ.
